Balancing group

Each distribution forms its own balancing group. A balancing group has inflows and outflows and is characterised by the fact that it is automatically balanced. Any differences between inflows and outflows are posted to (licence-free) system metering points. The sum of all inflows less the sum of all outflows results in a system metering point labelled “Total unmetered”. As this system metering point, by definition, is not redistributed, it is also an end consumer and can, for example, be allocated to a cost centre. The following system metering points are present in every distribution:

Total inflows

Total of all inflows to the distribution. These include both external and internal feed-ins, as well as inflows from other distributions.

Total utility company feed-in (external inflows)

The sum of all metering points in the distribution identified as utility feed-in points.

Total self-generation (internal inflows)

The total of all metering points in the distribution designated as self-generation installations.

Total outflows

Total of all outputs from the distribution (outputs to consumers + outputs to other distributions).

Total consumption

Total of all outflows that are not further distributed.

Total unmetered

The difference between the total inflows and the total outflows. The metering point is also regarded as a consumer and can be used in cost centres.

The actual calculation is carried out by the “Structural Data Calculation Medium” or “Structural Data Calculation Distribution” workflow. However, only measured variables whose rules contain “Structural Data” are taken into account here.
