Meter reading point
A meter reading point is a measured variable of the “Meter reading” type that has been assigned to a meter reading area. Any number of meter reading points can be created within a meter reading area. A meter reading point can also be assigned to several meter reading areas. For example, a meter reading point might be read by meter reader A one time and by meter reader B the next. However, while a meter reading is active, the meter reading point is locked for other users to prevent inconsistencies. The meter reading points can be sorted to optimise the meter reader’s route.
Order
The order determines the route the meter reader takes. Once a meter reading has been successfully entered, the system automatically moves on to the next meter reading point in the sequence.
Plausibility checking
The plausibility checking process is designed to flag up any potential input errors when data is entered on site. Plausibility checking of meter reading entries is currently implemented only in the visual energy Mobile app and not when filling in forms on the Web interface.

Basic | A plausibility check is carried out based on the most recent meter reading period, which must be at least one month. If the meter reading indicates a daily consumption that is more than 10 per cent above or below the average daily consumption for the meter reading period, a warning will be issued. This method is particularly suitable at the outset, when only a small amount of data has been collected. |
Regression | A plausibility check is carried out based on the (linear) standard deviation of all daily consumption figures for the previous year (meter reading date – 1 year). The advantage of this method is that the actual variation in consumption becomes apparent over time. |
