Installation

  1. Local administrator privileges are required to install the add-in on the PC. Please note the system requirements. There may be other requirements on your system as well.
  1. Download the setup file (ZIP archive) for the latest Excel add-in. The download link can be found on the visual energy website in the “Top Site” menu at the top right.
  2. Close all open Excel applications.
  3. Extract the setup application to a temporary directory.
  4. Run the setup application (ve5_excel_...exe) with local administrator privileges. Once you have selected your language, the setup program will check the system requirements on your computer.
  5. Next, launch Microsoft Excel. Please ensure that both the COM add-in (Options -> Add-ins -> COM Add-ins) and the Excel add-in (Options -> Add-ins -> Excel Add-ins) for visual energy are enabled.
  1. If the add-in has been installed and activated correctly, a new menu item called “visual energy” should appear in the top menu.
