Busmaster

A Busmaster is an external program from KBR EnergyManagement and is not an integral part of visual energy. Any number of Busmasters can be connected to each visual energy system.
Required permissions
To view Busmasters, the relevant project permission “Busmaster” with “Read” access is required. To view, create or edit Busmasters, the relevant project permission “Busmaster” with “Edit” access is required. To delete a Busmaster, the relevant project permission “Busmaster” with “Full” access is required. |
Add Busmaster to project
A list of registered Busmasters is maintained for each project.

You can add further Busmasters to the project using the button. Configuring the following connection properties registers the Busmaster with the project.
Properties
Name/Designation/Title | A meaningful text entry. The designation is used for identification and search purposes and can be changed at any time. |
Busmaster | Text – An IP address or DNS name through which the Busmaster can be reached. |
Web server | Text – An IP address or DNS name through which visual energy Web can be accessed from the Busmaster. |
WCF port | Number – Specify the port number for WCF communication. |
WCF timeout | Selection – The time, in seconds, to wait for a response during WCF communication. |
Automatic | Logical YES/NO – For the selected Busmaster, you can specify here whether it should also be updated in the event of a system update. The update is carried out via the Busmaster Update workflow |
Remove / delete Busmaster
To remove a Busmaster from the project, click the button. However, this merely deletes the project assignment; it does not delete the Busmaster itself.
CAUTION

Deleting a Busmaster prevents further data communication.
Any linked locations will be disconnected. No energy data are received from the measuring devices connected to this Busmaster.
