Meter reading
The mobile app checks whether there are any meter reading requests for meter reading areas assigned to the currently logged-in user. These are made available for meter reading. The meter reading points are synchronised and all the data required for validation is loaded from the database onto the mobile device.
When a meter reading is entered, it is validated against the following rules. The meter reader receives clear warnings in the event of a breach of the rules and may be required to provide the relevant confirmation and further details. This also helps to avoid largely unintentional input errors.
Over- and under-consumption | If the calculated daily consumption falls outside the expected range, the app may issue a validation warning. Validation can be defined for each meter reading point. The options are “Off”, “Basic” or “Regression”. |
Meter rollback | If the meter reading entered is lower than the last meter reading, the validation message will be “Meter rollback”. The exception is an assumed meter rollover. However, consumption must be within the expected range. |
Meter rollover | If the meter reading entered is lower than the last meter reading, this could also be a meter rollover. This is determined by the settings for the number of digits in the meter register, as specified in the metering point properties. If the calculated consumption remains within the expected range, a meter rollover is assumed. The meter reader receives a corresponding validation message. |
Zero consumption | If the new meter reading matches the last meter reading exactly, a validation message “Zero consumption” is displayed. |
Each of these validation errors must be confirmed by the meter reader, who must also enter an appropriate comment.
